Limescale is a common problem that can develop in coffee machines over time. It is caused by the accumulation of mineral deposits, which are present in tap water. When water is heated, especially in coffee machines, these minerals trigger the formation of limescale on the heating element and pipes.
Limescale build-up can have several negative effects on DeLonghi® coffee machines. Firstly, it can impair the machine’s performance by blocking water flow and reducing the efficiency of the heating element. Machine failure can even arise in severe cases of build-up.
These build-ups should be removed regularly by descaling your DeLonghi® machine. This can be achieved with the Caffenu® descaling liquid developed for these machines. The Caffenu® Eco Power Descaler for DeLonghi® was formulated to descale and sanitise the internal components of all DeLonghi® coffee machines, removing limescale and deposits from the heating element and piping.
Regular descaling and following manufacturer guidelines can help prevent limescale formation and ensure the quality of brewed coffee. Descale every 2-4 months, depending on the water hardness in your area.
